Kevin is the Principal Investigator of the group and is currently funded under a prestigious SFI SIRG award. He has a PhD in Applied Optics and a BSc in Physics both from NUI Galway. He has industry experience as an Optical Engineer at IRIS R&D. He worked with a number of academic groups in Dublin City University (DCU) as a postdoctoral researcher from 2013 - 2015. He joined the IEO Centre as a postdoc in 2015, before acquiring his own research funding (currently > €1M) and establishing himself as a Principal Investigator & Research Fellow at TU Dublin.

When not in the lab he enjoys spending time with his young family and living forever in hope for Mayo GAA.

Emma is a PhD student working on an SFI funded project to develop novel analog holographic wavefront sensors. She has a BSc in Applied Physics from Dublin City University (DCU) and has industry experience as an Optical Research Assistant at a Dublin based start-up.

Matt is an Irish Research Council (IRC) funded Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholar and his PhD work focuses on fabricating holographic optical elements for the correction and treatment of vision conditions. He has a BSc in Science with Nanotechnology from TU Dublin. 

Luca is a PhD student working on an SFI Frontiers for Partnership funded SpacePHORM project. His research work is towards advancing photosensitive materials to make them suitable for space applications. Luca joins us from Italy where he has a BSc in Physics and a MSc on the topic of "Surface relief and bulk birefringence gratings in photo-sensitive polymers by vectorial holography" from the University of Calabria. 

Vishwath received a BSc (2017) and a MSc (2019), both in Physics, from Madurai Kamaraj University in India. Moving to Ireland in 2024 to join the group as a PhD student, he is now working on the SpacePHORM project. His research will focus on fabricating a diverse set of holographic devices, in novel photosensitive materials, for a variety of space applications. 

Hugo is a MSc student studying Engineering Physics, normally based in the Polytech Clermont in France. He is visiting the group for 4 months and will research how accurate holographic wavefront sensors are at detecting typical ocular aberrations.
